Candy Rainbow Hair
Culture Magazine featured the fantastic work of session stylist Byron Turnbull in this editorial “Spin the Spectrum”. Turnbull created both the candy rainbow hair look and make up to match, all using MAC make up. Choosing a soft, fun candy colour scheme, Turnbull’s colour palette pops as different tones are reviled with the movement of the hair. Complemented with bold, bright statement jewellery from Dinosaur Designs to complete the look.
Byron is a Sydney based hair stylist and one of the youngest talents in the industry. He started assisting a decade ago when he was just 15. He loves the surreal, and glamour behind transforming and shaping art, creating recognisable and memorable looks. Now collaborating with some of the world’s leading photographers, Byron is credited on editorial covers and spreads in Cleo, Yen, The Sydney Magazine and Shop til You Drop. Byron has built a loyal following in Sydney and is recognised for his professionalism, creativity and attention to detail. He pushes boundaries and is always at the precipice of the next season’s trends.
“To get this look, I first dried in EVO Day of Grace leave in conditioner to protect the hair from staining” tells stylist Byron Turnbull. “Then I went through with a freehand painting technique and smudged in five different MAC eyeshadows into the hair from root to ends with each section alternating from MAC Red Brick, Goldenrod, Bitter, Sunshine, Blue Sheen and Pink Papillon. I finished the look with EVO Salty Dog sea salt spray.”
